Step 2: Your Fascia Release Toolkit: What You Need & Why

Whether you have no budget or some budget to spare, you’re here to learn what tools you need to accomplish your goal: unlock your nervous system with the 4 Keys, then release stuck trauma with the 1 Technique—Fascia It.

On your path now to heal the trauma and glow that beautiful aura around you that speaks directly to your dog. They’ll feel the energy shift before you do. Below table gives you the links and the products based on your budget needs and then follows the explanation of the toolkit selected and why.

The tools below correspond to the 9-Day Fascia Protocol in Chapter 7 of Your Dog Is As Healthy As Your Fascia. Each tool targets specific body areas where you store unprocessed trauma that your dog absorbs. Choose your path below based on your budget and mobility:

Note: In my book, for massage gun, I recommended the Pure Wave CM-07—my trusted tool for years. It was lightweight (2.5 lbs), included heat therapy, and had 10mm amplitude perfect for fascia work. Pure Wave CM-07 is no longer available. After extensive research, I found two modern replacements—both designed by physical therapists Bob & Brad (50+ years combined experience)

🐾 Lacrosse Ball ($8)

What it doesPinpoint pressure on trigger points and adhesions
Which 9 Body AreasFeet (plantar fascia), glutes, hamstrings, shoulders, chest
How to usePlace under body area while sitting or lying down. Apply gentle pressure for 30-90 seconds per spot. Breathe deeply
Why I chose thisFirm regulation-size ball gives consistent pressure. Works even while sitting or lying down
Book referenceChapter 7, Days 1-3 (feet, glutes, hamstrings)

🐾 Foam Roller ($18)

What it doesBroad surface release for larger muscle groups by rolling on the foam roller
Which 9 Body AreasIT band, quads, hamstrings, back, calves
How to useLie on roller and slowly roll along muscle length. Pause on tender spots for 30-90 seconds
Why I chose thisHigh-density foam maintains shape and gives deep compression without collapsing
Book referenceChapter 7, Days 4-6 (IT band, quads, back)

🐾 Hands-Free Massage Gun – Solo Fascia Work ($119.99) Jaxiuk 16-Head Deep Tissue

What it doesDeep percussion + 660nm red light therapy breaks up fascia adhesions at 25mm depth — solo, no partner needed
Which 9 Body AreasAll 9 areas — especially powerful for back, glutes, hamstrings, and sides where you can’t reach yourself with a standard gun
How to usePlace flat on any surface or against your body while seated or lying down. Select heat + medium speed. Apply 1-2 minutes per area. Increase intensity as needed across 30 levels.
Why I chose thisMost massage guns need a partner to reach your back. This one doesn’t. The flat paddle design with handles lets you do the entire 9-day protocol completely alone — on a chair, couch, or floor. The 660nm red light softens fascia before percussion even starts.
Specs: 25mm amplitude, 50kg stall force, 16 heads, 660nm red light, 30 intensities, hands-free design
Book referenceChapter 7, all 9 days — replaces standard massage gun for anyone living alone or without a partner

🐾 Lightweight Massage Gun – ($90) BOB & BRAD C2 Pro

How to useApply to each area for 1-2 minutes at medium speed. Use soft heads on sensitive areas (chest, jaw, neck)
Why I chose thisLightest professional massage gun with heat therapy. Same depth as Pure Wave (10mm) but 40% lighter. Perfect for extended use, travel, and those with limited hand strength.
Specs: 10mm amplitude, 44 lbs stall force, 1.5 lbs weight, heat + cold therapy
Book referenceChapter 7, Days 7-9 + can replace ball/roller for all areas

🐾 Strongest Massage Gun – Maximum Power ($206) BOB & BRAD D6 Pro Plus

Which 9 Body AreasAll 9 areas – especially effective on dense muscle (glutes, hamstrings, back, quads)
How to useApply to each area for 1-2 minutes at medium speed. 90° rotating arm reaches your own back. Use soft air cushion head on sensitive areas.
Why I chose thisDeepest amplitude available (60% deeper than Pure Wave) with rotating arm to reach your own back. Best for those wanting maximum fascia release or working on chronic tension.
Specs: 16mm amplitude, 85 lbs stall force, 3.5 lbs weight, heat therapy, rotating arm
Book referenceChapter 7, Days 7-9 + can replace ball/roller for all areas

Note: Both massage guns with 10mm and 16mm amplitude are effective for fascia release. 10mm handles all 9 body areas in the protocol. 16mm goes deeper into dense muscle if you want extra power.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Do I need to buy all the tools?

A: No! Choose based on your budget and mobility. The $0 option (body-based fascia release from Human Garage TV) works beautifully with the 4 Keys. Tools just make the physical release easier.

Q: Can I do the 9-day protocol without a massage gun?

A: Yes! The lacrosse ball and foam roller ($25 total) are enough to complete the entire protocol. The massage gun is helpful if you have limited mobility or can’t get on the floor.

Q: Which massage gun should I choose?

A: Lightweight (C2 Pro – $90) if you want easy handling, travel-friendly, or have limited hand strength. Strongest (D6 Pro Plus – $206) if you want maximum depth, can handle 3.5 lbs, or have chronic tension in dense muscle. Both are effective—choose based on your body and needs.

Q: Why did you replace the Pure Wave CM-07 from your book?

A: Pure Wave is no longer available. The BOB & BRAD C2 Pro has the same 10mm depth but is 40% lighter with heat + cold therapy. The D6 Pro Plus goes 60% deeper if you want more power. Both are designed by physical therapists and outperform the original Pure Wave.

Q: Do these Amazon links cost me extra?

A: No. The price is exactly the same whether you use my link or not. As an Amazon Associate, I earn a small commission from qualifying purchases, which helps me create free resources for you on my website and youtube channel.

Q: How long does the 9-day protocol take each day?

A: 15-30 minutes per day depending on the body area. Days 1-3 (feet, glutes, hamstrings) are quicker. Days 7-9 (chest, jaw, neck) require more gentleness and time. Full details in Chapter 7.

Q: Can I use the massage gun on my dog?

A: No. These tools are for YOUR fascia release. As you heal your trauma, your dog will naturally feel better because they’re no longer absorbing your unprocessed emotions. The work is always on you, not your dog.

Q: What if I can’t afford any tools right now?

A: Start with the $0 option. Download the free resources (4 Keys), practice the breathing exercises, and learn body-based fascia release from Human Garage TV. Your intention and effort matter more than equipment. Your dog feels your energy shift before anything else.

Q: How do I know which body areas to work on?

A: Follow the 9-day protocol in Chapter 7 exactly as written. It’s designed in a specific order: Days 1-3 (feet, glutes, hamstrings), Days 4-6 (IT band, quads, back), Days 7-9 (chest, jaw, neck). Each area stores different trauma patterns.

Q: Are the free resources really free?

A: Yes! The Reflection Journal, Affirmation Cards, Breathwork Guide, 9-Day Tracker, Dog Symptom Tracker, and Celebrate It tracker are all free downloads. No email required, no strings attached.

Q: Will my dog get better immediately?

A: Healing takes time. Most people notice shifts in their dog within 2-4 weeks of consistent practice. Some see changes sooner. The key is releasing YOUR trauma—your dog is your mirror. As you heal, they heal.

Q: Can I use a different brand of massage gun?

A: Yes, but make sure it has: (1) heat therapy (essential for fascia), (2) at least 10mm amplitude, (3) soft rubber or air cushion heads (not metal), and (4) enough power (40+ lbs stall force). The two I recommend meet all these requirements.

Q: What does “amplitude” mean?

A: How deep the massage head penetrates into your tissue with each strike. 10mm reaches superficial and mid-level fascia (effective for all 9 body areas). 16mm reaches deep fascia layers where chronic tension lives. Both work—16mm just goes deeper if you want extra power.

Q: Do I need to read the book first?

A: Yes. The book explains WHY this work matters (your dog absorbs your trauma), WHAT the 4 Keys are (inner preparation), and HOW to do the 9-day protocol (Chapter 7). The tools on this page support the book’s teachings—they don’t replace them.

Q: How often should I repeat the 9-day protocol?

A: Complete it once fully, then use the tools as needed for maintenance. Many people repeat monthly or when they notice their dog’s symptoms returning. Listen to your body and your dog.

Q: Can I skip the 4 Keys and just do the fascia release?

A: No. The 4 Keys (Own It, Journal It, Affirm It, Breathe It) are essential inner preparation. Fascia stores emotional trauma—if you don’t process the emotions first, you’re just pushing on tissue. The Keys + the Technique work together. That’s why it’s called the 5 Keys framework in the book.
